Casa das Palmeiras is set in one of the most picturesque areas in Mozambique, with spectacular views of pristine beaches and the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. “Between lake and sea”, among mangroves inhabited by exotic birds and the deep blue ocean.

Situated 485km north of Maputo, access is via a tarred road which is suitable for normal vehicles. The road from Maputo to Xai-Xai has been upgraded and resurfaced. North from Xai-Xai there is an old section of road, approx. 70km, which is potholed. This section is being patched and will be completed in due course. After the initial 70km section the road is new and upgraded making the drive a lot easier.

The Lodge

Casa das Palmeiras is a four bedroomed home which sleeps 8 with 2 additional double bed sleeper couches, all with en-suite bathrooms with walk in fitted showers. There is a tastefully furnished, open plan lounge, dining room and fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances.

Inclusive in your daily rate:

Bedding & towels, laundry service, Daily cleaning of all rooms, Electricity, Night watch (security). Upstairs comprises a TV lounge, bar counter, guest toilet and balcony with stunning sea views. The TV lounge has a TV but bring your own DSTV decoder with smart card. dining table and six chairs which overlook the garden that stretches to the beach. The house is fully serviced Monday to Saturday.

Casa das Palmeiras is set 200m from the well-known Sentidos Beach Retreat 5star Resort and within walking distance of numerous Barra restaurants.

Scenery

Casa das Palmeiras has secluded, unspoilt beaches, and is bordered by the Inhambane estuary on one side and the sea on the other. The lodge is nestled amongst groves of coco-nut trees, and the warm Indian Ocean offers safe bathing all year round. Wide open, sun-drenched beaches offer endless hours of strolling pleasure. Casa das Palmeiras caters for families with children and is geared towards fun and activities for the whole family.

There is ample space to park your boat on the premises. Easy launching for the keen fisherman.

Tofo is situated approximately 10km away with diving facilities, street markets, restaurants and pubs. Mozambique is a Malaria area, so please take necessary precautions.
